Hello

I saw this big Sarcophagid fly last year and I tries to take pictures of genital parts in vivo (I didn't collect it).
I think genital parts resemble Sarcophaga variegata shown there, but I don't have documentation to identify flies of genus Sarcophaga.
Is it possible to identify it with these pictures ?
Thank you in advance.

Seen in Rosny-sous-Bois, Île-de-France, France
May 2015
size : about 13 mm

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
