Hello, 25.09.2016, Oslo/Norway, rocky fjord coast, edge of light pine tree forest. Size: 5 -7 mm, estimated. In spite of the prominent underside of the abdomen, both in pattern and color, I could find no match – most images on the web are dorsal/lateral views anyway. In another forum it was suggested that the fly might belong to the genus Fannia. . .is that confirmable? Any help of identification would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much Stephane! I was inwardly hoping that the prominent feature of the ventral abdomen would make it possible to get down to the species. A search in Fauna Europae listed 45 Fannia-species for Norway. I did the pain work to scan thoroughly through all the pics I could get up for them via Google images. It possibly boiles down to Fannia sociella (female). There is a pic with a quite similar habitus in BOLDSYSTEMS (I am not sure if I am allowed here to link directly. . .) What do you think? There is pv seta on t2, so it is not F. sociella, most probably F. polychaeta
