I think you are right, it is Bombylius sp. (and a very attractive one), but I can't suggest a species. Thanks for the hint. I suppose its the same species. I watched ''my'' fly for many minutes, because it was not shy and did not mind my many attempts to get a good photo, which with my camera means to approach a distance from only a few cm. It usually stayed flying without changing position only a few cm above the sandy ground. When I approached to close, it changed position for less then one m and then stayed flying there. More impressing than the black-white stripes on Notum were the black-white stripes on abdomen, that unfortunately are not well to see at the photo So the species seems to be the No 378 lol |
