Hello, I have never seen such an abdomen colouration like that of the female. Is this Tipula rufina? About 20 mm body length, at night at our housewall (northwest Germany). Bigger pictures (up to 1600x1200) here: http://insektenfo...adID=82665 Juergen Peters attached the following image: [110.46Kb] Edited by Juergen Peters on 04-10-2016 08:35 Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |

Hi Jürgen Tipula confusa is quite similar but it has "holes" in head. So not confusa.... BR Esko Edited by evi on 02-10-2016 15:09 |

Rufina has 6 stripes on thorax. So I think not rufina. BR Esko evi attached the following image: [17.61Kb] Edited by evi on 02-10-2016 15:32 |

Hi Jürgen >>Tipula confusa is quite similar but it has "holes" in head. So not confusa.... Correction to this. Many other species than confusa has also similar like "holes" and the photo is not so sharp to check "holes" so this can have "holes". I checked also my confusa collection specimens. Very similar with confusa. So I think it can be confusa. (not 100% sure) Peeters & Oosterbroek has new key for Tipulidae (Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium) here http://ccw.natura..._2016a.pdf BR Esko Edited by evi on 04-10-2016 08:04 |
