Hi, Today I came across several tiny black flies belonging to Platypezidae on shrub leaves in a shadowy place. The location is southwestern Germany not far away from Stuttgart. All were males and proved to belong to at least 2 species (and genera). I have no family key and hope for your help. The first one might be a Paraplatypeza atra... Could be Paraplatypeza, but key character (setae on frons) not really visible. May also be Platypeza or Polyporivora. |

Right, I am also not sure if I only imagine that tuft of setae... So just a "cf." genus - thanks! |
