Hi, I found this fly in Bulgaria, Rila Mts, 2000 m, mountain meadow with Pinus mugo shrubs. Thank you for advices.

so, that is at or near the top ? Was he hilltopping ?

Anyway, definitely a Peleteria, but I am not sure on the species. The antenna is very black and the abdomen very orange.

Yes, quite likely P. rubescens. Very orange, though.

Yes, it was on the top of the Kapatnik mt. I thing could be hilltopping. Thank you.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
