Thanks a lot.
I was tricked... It should at least have more bristles on the abdomen...(I think)

Somehow I think this is not Pegomya, but Paradelia, because of the ocre brown coloring on thorax and abdomen.
Maybe Paradelia setiventris (with yellow legs and enlarged postpedicel ), but I have never seen this species.

Best way is to try to collect a male specimen.

Not to thank me, because I wonder if I am right.
P. setiventris is a Holarctic species mainly and only found in Austria (Alps) by Ackland.
So not present in Norway.
Maybe better only to say....a possible Paradelia

Yes it is somewhat unlikely, but who knows...
Thanks for trying to solve this fly-Puzzle.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
