Indeed Emmesomyia and this genus only contains two species. E. grisea and E. socia. The differents in females we only can make by the differents in ovipositor ... so it will keep just Emmesomyia species. Johanna Edited by javanerkelens on 21-08-2016 09:12 |

Thanks Johanna! Are the differents in the ovipositor visible just by looking at a pinned specimen in the stereo microscope, or is it necessary to dissect the specimen?

Indeed you have to dissect the ovipositor.... See the dwawing from Hennig (Hennig W 1976. 63a. Anthomyiidae. In: Die Fliegen der Paläarktischen Region 7 (Lindner E ed.) E. Schweizerbart). javanerkelens attached the following image: [185.85Kb] Edited by javanerkelens on 21-08-2016 14:47 |
