Hi,
Is it possible to tell the species of the Tachinidae?
Photo 28 July 2016 in Kokkola Finland.

It looks more like a Tachinidae to me, similar to, say, Allophorocera ferruginea. (But this is mostly a guess of an absolute amateur Smile)
Greetings,
Henrik

Hi Pentti,

Henrik is right: it is similar to Allophorocera ferruginea.
However, it is much too golden yellow.
The eyes are really bare and the humerals again in a triangle.

So Allophorocera is OK, but it is A. rutila.

That is most exciting indeed, since this species is extremely rare all over the Palaearctic, from Switzerland to Japan. I got myself one from Estonia, which is of course relatively close to Finland.

This might be even a first one for Finland ! You need to check this. However, fauna-eu is down at the moment.

Right !
So not mentioned for Finland in the old version (but then again, Estonia is neither).

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
