Found in Rhodes, near Faliraki, on 27.06.2016. It looks like a Rhyncomya sp. Possible to say something more?
(Some of the pics are not great... Sad)
Thanks for any help/comment in advance!
Kind regards,
Henrik

I agree. the genus is very tricky, my experience is too little to give an opinion.

Not speciosa or cyanescens. Guess if it can be peusi (whole abdomen light brown + parafacial/genal spots)

Thank you Theo!

R. peusi looks perfect to me, thanks a lot Valerio!

I guess R. zemyana also has some metallic spotts on the abdomen. Is that rigth?

Best regards,
Henrik

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
