Difficult to say... To exclude Rhinophora lepida (Rhinophoridae) we need a better picture of the wing venation. Given that there is no petiole on the median vein (which would exclude the former), we have to think of Tachinidae: Phania funesta that, however, should have no silvery dusting on the abdomen, and Gastrolepta anthracina with a sharp angle in the median vein, which is recognizable. Theo should have the last word... (Change the title to attract him!)
Regards, Sundew

I am inconclusive.
It could very well be a dark female Thelaira, but 'could be'. is not an identification.

Hello Theo,

with this two poor fotos it was a try to get a name for this fly,
and it is for us no problem if it is not possible,
so the best we can do is Tachinidae sp.

thanks a lot for your tireless work,

greetings

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
