Horsefly from Northern Greece for ID.please

I spotted this insect on Spurge around Lake Kerkini in Northern Greece . To me it looks like a Horsefly of some sort , and someone suggested it may be a male , Pangonius sp .Any thoughts on ID ,would be much appreciated .

it is a male horsefly indeed, a species in the genus Dasyramphis. Pity the fly is too small to be identified. Theo |
