Hi,

does this species with huge lower face belong to Lauxaniidae ? The fly is from Cameroon.

I do not see preapical dorsal bristles on tibiae, which Lauxaniidae should have. There is a vibrissa-like bristle. I don't know if it is a true vibrissa. Lauxaniidae do not have vibrissae. Are the post-ocellar bristles convergent?
