I was hoping an ID might be possible with this picture, I don't believe I have any photos of the wings but I will check later today. Others have suggested it may be Muscidae or Anthomyiidae. This fly was found on October 8, 2015 around 3:30pm near a small man-made pond in Victoria, BC, Canada. |

Possibly Hylemya alcathoe, which seems to be very common along the west coast. This based on plumose arista and red legs. I am not with my books today. |
