Hello,

when I prepared a portrait of Phasia hemiptera for my forum, showing also the "non macho" form of the males of that species and looked at some of my current photos of P. aurigera, I noticed that there also seems to exist a "non macho" form. Or is this a different species?

I had also observed different forms of males in P. obesa before, but not in P. aurigera before (and there is no var. obscura in the gallery).

VERY INTERESTING ! I have never seen this.
Yes, you are totally right. It looks like a female aurigera, however, the golden crown on the thorax is male-ish as is the dark colour on the wing.
Abdominal tip is male.
