Tephritidae_Acidia cognata(female) is the correct name? Slovak Republic, Malá Fatra, approximately altitude cca 500 m a. s. l. Thank you very much for your help. Best regards. Fote date: 31. 08. 2015.

Yes, correctly. It can be only confused with Myoleja lucida, and especially with the Caucasian and Turkish M. korneyevi, but here the anterior wing margin here has a wide hyaline break (the whole cell yellow in Myoleja). Also, Myoleja spp. have just one generation per year, whereas A. cognata has up to three generations. I collected their larvae in mid-November and even they pupated and flies emerged! Val |
