Dear forum,

the pics are not good, I realize, but isn`t this a male of Lindneromyia dorsalis?
(I think, if it had bristles on frons, like Paraplatypezidae atra has, there should be visible at least anything of them, even on these bad pics, but there is nothing like that). What do you think?

aug, 26th, 2015, northern upper rhine rift, Southwest Germany, Hessen - 3,5 mm; resting on iyy leaf above compost pile, occasionally making very short runs across centre of the leaf; in absolute shadow, nevertheless those rainbow reflections in wing were visible (not only on pics, but also with my eyes)

Thanks in advance for taking a look at this.

Best regards, Thorsten

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
