Is this a female Sarcophaga? Size is about 16 mm.

Prosternum parallel-sided; mid-tibiae with 2 large, one small AD; one large pair of PS DC setae with 2 or 3 very small pairs just anterior to those; white setae on genae; posterior bristle of mid-tibiae about same size as its PD bristle; postalar wall setose

Using Manual of Nearctic Diptera, I get to Sarcodexia; using the newer Manual of Central American Diptera seems to lead to Sarcophaga

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
