For a Tachinid, that is plumose ! So most likely some Dexiini, but still might be some aberrant Tachinini. Theo |

Yes , that is the alternative. Hence my remark on Tachinini. Either way, it is 'aberrant' from a Palaearctic point of view. I am insufficient familiar with the Australian fauna to call this from picture. With specimen, it would be probably no problem. Theo |

In Crosskey's (1973) key it runs to "undetermined genus" near Toxocnemis. Note projecting chin and frontal bristles ending in a cluster of bristles rather than forming a neat row. |
