Interesting : it seems to be Villeneuvia aestuum, though I cannot be sure as it is a newly emerged fly.

I must have a close-up to the face and frons to (maybe) confirm : Villeneuvia have no orbital setae on frons, the face is concave and the vibrissal edges are approximated to the middle of the face.

Hi Luis, I was a bit long to answer because I wanted to check with my own specimens, and now I can tell you that I'm confident your fly is Villeneuvia aestuum. This is interesting because it seems not to be recorded from Spain. Stephane. |

Hello: I have seen in Fauna Europaea the distribution of Villeneuvia aestuum http://www.faunaeur.org/distribution_table.php but, Is this information updated?. I have seen in this web (Diptera.info) that also is present in Portugal. Thank you. Edited by Luis Alvarez on 16-04-2015 16:59 |
