Hello,

not many flies this afternoon (sunny, but cold wind at 7 °C), only some Trichocera, Phaonia tuguriorum, Neomyia cornicina, a single Eristalis tenax and this 5 mm Anthomyiidae male. On tree trunk at forestborder, northwest Germany. Sorry for the bad picture quality.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
