Hi,

does this fly belong to Asilidae? And is it possible to identify the species?
Thanks a lot!!

Kind regards,
Lennart

Hello Lennart,

Leptogaster sp.. Possibly an Asilidae expert can determine the species, if you put it into the Asilidae subforum.
Best regards,
Jürgen

Hi Jürgen,
thank you! - right, there was something like that...I'll have a try. Is it technically possible to switch this thread into that subforum? I don't see any option, but maybe I'm just blind...
Kind regards,
Lennart

I am quite sure it is a female of Leptogaster cylindrica.
Best regards,

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
