Hello Michael,

my non-expert opinion: Suillia variegata (Heleomyzidae).
Best regards,
Jürgen

Please, think to change the title to draw the experts' attention. Meanwhile, Suillia variegata is also my opinion with such a wing pattern.
Stephane.

Well, I'm not an expert either, but I'm almost certain that Stephane is right. Smile

Thank you, Stephane and Jan, for confirmation!

@ Stephane: it was a little bit of work, till I found out, how to change the title. In future I´ll do so.

Greetings from the river Rhine valley,

Michael

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
