Hi,

I'm trying to attribute the pictures in vivo i took from Tabanid to the one's i have in collection.
So for this one: i caught a specimen from this place, but the one i caught is a male. Still, it really look like a spodopterus. Do you think it could be his female?

I would need to see the legs and a frontal of the head.

Does the male has enlarged upper facets in the eye ?

You confirmed the male [u=http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=59796]here[/u] Smile

For the pictures, well, that's one of the main problem: i don't have any frontal view... that's why i was referring to you.

Here are legs:

And here is the best pic' for the head...

I cannot be sure, but this might actually be T. spodopteroides female.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
