Hi again,

Photographed in May of this year, in southern Spain, arid area but with a lot of fruit plantations around.
About 5mm in size.

I'm guessing it belongs to the Reduviidae. Am I wrong again? Smile
Is it possible to get to species with this only photo of it?

The curved proboscis is diagnostic for Reduviidae.

Coranus sp., a difficult genus (for me).
With long wings, pattern on abdominal underside and shape of the scutellum mostly possible Coraneus griseus.

Wow, glad I'm back again or else I would have missed ID correction.

Thank you Frank, Graeme and cthirion.
Quite precise ID Smile
Maybe even species name. Impressive.

Here is the photo in final edit.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
