I think that may be Musca domestica, or, Musca autumnalis. But I will never distinguish. Photograph taken on 18 October, 2014, in the wetlands of the Suárez Pond, Motril, Granada, Spain. In North America, Musca domestica would have more widely separated male eyes and M. autumnalis would lack orange on the female abdomen. I see some relatively narrow-fronted M. domestica in the gallery. |
