Hi again

I found this "loving" couple in a grassy area of coastal dunes (Xagó Beach, N Spain), on June the 29th.

They look like Tachinidae to my amateur eyes, but I might be wrong. Anyway, can something be said about their identity?

Many thanks for any help, as usual. Smile

Another lateral view, even lower to see more of the torax pattern and the faces shape (hard with the grass bothering!) Shock

Yes, they are Tachinidae indeed.

Genus Pseudogonia.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
