I think the description and drawing of the genitalia of E. rustica by Chvála is slightly different from this post. |

Genitalia are slightly different and resemble more those of variegata, but the main description is not matching too much with this species (for example coxae here are not black). |

Male and female are different species, the male belonging to the rustioca group (sensu Chvála) the female belonging to the monogramma group (sensu Chvála; more yellowish species). The male does not key out properly as rustica as the venter apparently is not black. Neither Chvála's key or Daugeron's key leads to a satisfactory identification, with the genitalia resembling those of meridionalis but the coxae being yellowish. Might well be an undescribed species. So this is a new discovery from rustica group (cognata e multispina have light sternites, but genitalia appears different)! Edited by ValerioW on 02-09-2014 16:09 |

A thousand excuses, I forgot that I had made a topic on the forum DI. It's Empis (Leptempis) lauriauti Daugeron & Bahid, 2017 ♂ and ♀. |
