Does anyone know which Tabanus species this might be?
Seen near Phimai, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand 2008-02-01.

Yes Theo, ment striatus complex. Lapsus! I dunno what kind of mental trip happened. My suspect was on partitus, but cannot exclude others.

Unfortunately I only have a lateral view picture. Most of the important characteristics to distinguish T. striatus and T. partitus are not visible.
Although Burger and Thompson in their publication "Tabanus stratius complex" seem to indicate that T. partitus is the species found in Thailand, I think I will stick to Tabanus sp.
