Hello,
is it possible to indentify this fly?
I found it on 2014-7-14 in my garden (Furth im Wald, Bavaria, Germany). Length: 6 mm

Regards
Ingrid

I see Ingrid. A very reliable ID for me isn't possible. But just jumping from one trait to another, and considering descriptions, I arrive (somehow) to F. coracina

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
