Well, this is pretty much asked. I know how hard it is to get pictures, but one angle hardy ever suffice to get a good ID. Well..this time we got lucky The eyes are hairy but it does not seem to be a Hybomitra nor an Atylotus. That narrows it down pretty much. Given the habitus and the locality, it is quite likely this is the male of Tabanus nemoralis. An Iberian specialty. Theo |
