Hi, I found this Hybomitra hiding among a whole batch of H expollicata i caught 2 weeks ago, while hunting with Christoophe in Camargue. (well, hunting wouldn't be the word; he showed me is technique: sit in front of his car and wait for the Tabanid to come on it. It's a bit lazy but it work suprasingly well! )I made me believe even more Tabanid lover are just the laziest Dipterists. So, for this specimen, my main propositions are ciureai or muehlfeldi, with a (little) preference on the first one. I believe eyes where unbounded (or we would have notice the deference with expollicata) ![]() Clovis : France : Arles : 13200 : 17/5/2014 Altitude : 1 m - Taille : 14mm Réf. : 120576 ![]() Clovis : France : Arles : 13200 : 17/5/2014 Altitude : 1 m - Taille : 14mm Réf. : 120578 ![]() Clovis : France : Arles : 13200 : 17/5/2014 Altitude : 1 m - Taille : 14mm Réf. : 120579 |

ciureai. Based both on features and habitat. ciureai is pretty salt tolerant, meuhfeldi is not. theo |
