Found today (april 15th, 2014) this possible Hemyda obscuripennis? Because it is an early observation I want to check out whether the species is correct identified. Or could it be a Hemyda vittata ?
Observation was in a wet area in a former sandpit in the middle of the Netherlands

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
