Hello everyone, and best wishes for this new year, it is rich in entomology!
I present you a hoverfly that I captured in French Guiana in 2009 on the station Nouragues.
Anyone know the species?
Thank you to you Wink

length : 8mm

Probably Palpada. The North American Eristalis transversa also has a transverse stripe on the thorax, but such markings are more typical of Palpada.

Hello,
John, thank you for your help.
On another forum, they gave me this reference:
http://bugguide.net/node/view/856490/bgimage

I find Palpada agrorum.
You think this is the right species?

Thank you,
Benoît

There are over 100 neotropical species of Palpada. I don't know how many of them look like agrorum.
