 Machimus sp? from Crete

A medium sized robberfly - around 15mm hunting in coastal scrubland on Crete in late May. Looks very similar to Machimus modestus I photographed in Croatia, but I can only find records for that in Eastern Europe and Turkey, so this may be a lookalike.
