Might be a Drosophila of the obscura group but the picture is a tad small.

When i look in Bächli & Burla (Insecta Helvetica 7, 1985) I come to D. ambigua, but I am not sure at all. Could it be a possible species? It is difficult to take pictures on the characters, but here is a photo on wing (and costa). Skutum is "einfarbig schiefergrau" and "tergite dunkel lateral". But perhaps it is necessery to see the genitals to be sure (which I have not prepared)?

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
