These are the first photos ever of this species of alive specimens.

They were taken by Paco (faluke) this year in Almeria, Cabo de Gata. These bombyliids are tiny.

If I understand the article correctly (I'm not a Spanish speaker) these photos are from the type locality, but it has not been noticed there since 1966.

Precisely. This species was not observed since 1966, well after the description of the holotype (1969) and only this year was recorded since then. There were not much guys in April to observe flies in the beaches...
