Welcome to the forum! The fly belongs to Rhagionidae, so a snipe fly indeed. I think it is a Chrysopilus, may be, C. cristatus, but I am no expert. Let us wait for more opinions!

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
