This insect was found in my conservatory during the early evening last year on the 5th May at my home in Tilehurst, Berkshire, UK.

At first I thought it was some sort of digger wasp, but it has since been pointed out to me that due to the huge number of antennal segments, it must be some sort of ichneumonid.

Has anyone any ideas?

Regards,
Tony.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
