Massachusetts, USA July 15, 2010. Many insects at sap. These are some of the Drosophilidae. In the previous year I saw two species of Drosophila and one of Mycodrosophila. See also thread 43411 from 5 days earlier (http://www.dipter...d_id=43411). Group of crawling, oozing things (click for much larger size, or view on Flickr) ![]() Male? (note hairs on fore tibia) with mite. ![]() Front half and back half of one. ![]() ![]() Female? and eggs, possibly her own and possibly not. ![]() ![]() ![]() Dark mottled fly similar to the flies that circle my head. ![]() |

At least three species, with the last image depicting on of the repleta group. That's where my knowledge of Nearctic species ends.
