While others can't climb, using infinite pains,
I, gravity turning to jest,
Ascend, with all ease, perpendicular planes,
Rough or smooth, just as pleases me best.

By my count 6 pairs dc, 1 pair scutellars, arista dorsal, no preapical on mid or hind femur. Doesn't fit well into Bickel's 1994 key based on visible characters. Maybe an anomalous Chrysosoma without the distinctive antenna of most species.

In America the legs of Amblypsilopus are nearly bare, except a few small hairs in females. Is that character not constant around the world?

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
