I would be most grateful for confirmation of the id of this tachinid fly as a male Phasia hemiptera.

The photographs were taken outdoors in Oxfordshire, S England on 21 August by an acquaintance.

The main host species Pentatoma rufipes and Palomena prasina are known to be present in the immediate locality. How host specific is it? Would it, for example, also parasitise on Gonocerus acuteangulatus?

Do you think that these photos, or one of them, would make a useful addition to the gallery, given that there are several of this already posted?

Many thanks,

Basil
