I think this pretty beefly from Samos (within sight of the Turkish mainland) has to be Exoprosopa pandora. Impossible to separate reliably from P. jacchus without detailed inspection, but it fits this image from Turkey http://www.diptera.info/photogallery.php?photo_id=3134 very well and the location suggests pandora: http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=22209&pid=98544 28.7.12 c. 10mm Samos, Greece, north coast near Karlovasi nick upton attached the following image:  [136.88Kb] Nick Upton - naturalist and photographer |
