And Hi again Smile

Now I'm introducing you this big-eyed beauty, found in the outskirts of Oviedo (N Spain) on June 13th, sitting in a wooden handrail by a little river with trees all along it.

Hope someone can help me with it, I suppose its a Tabanus but I can't go further.

Thanks a lot again in advance, any suggestion about its identity will be very appreciated. Smile

Best wishes

Marian

Dasyrhamphis ater or anthracinus. No frontal pic of the head?

Hi, Libor!

Thanks a lot for your reply! Smile

I'm afraid the little devil flied before I could take a proper close-up. I'm attaching my closest pic to a frontal view (which is not frontal at all!) just in case you can see in it what you are looking for:

It is ater. Athracinus has a clear window in the wing.

Thank you so much for making it clear and for the identification, Theo. Best wishes to both of you
