I think I see the Phaonia bristle. Can it be a male Phaonia trimaculata? Confirmation or correct ID will be most appreciated ![]() Taken in the outskirts of Madrid on a flowery meadow on the 2nd May 2012. Thanks a lot, Stephane!! Looks rather peculiar to me (so long-legged), comparing to other Herina I have photographed But there are so many Helina species in Spain... Any chance of proposing some potential names? Thanks!! Edited by Piluca_Alvarez on 16-07-2012 07:15 |

Any suggestion of a potential ID (or even a confirmation of it being impossible) would be most appreciated ![]() |

If you do want a suggestion, it could be the common Helina reversio, but we cannot even see whether abdomen is spotted or not as a start point.

Adding a more frontal view of it. Does it confirm Helina reversio? Or Helina cf. reversio would be better? Thanks!!

...what you prefer, we can discus this, during some good wine, cheese and many new pinned flies!
