Looks like Calliphoridae; similar to Pollenia pediculata in the Gallery. http://www.dipter...to_id=4099 A very worn version of this one? http://www.dipter...post_67832 Edited by Roger Thomason on 08-06-2012 09:47 |

Hmm, not Sarcophaga ... as Roger says, maybe a worn calliphorid but also perhaps a Dexiine, like Estheria or Billaea?

In fact I was thinking about that one myself too Roger, I looked at that picture of Pollenia sp and wondered if it could be the same... Well... I guess there will be no name for this one then... I did forget to mention the size, but I think it was around 1cm. Been a little time and some other flies inbetween, so I'm not sure anymore... Indeed Chris, it could easyli be ano of those too... I guess Diptera indet is a good name for this one too then ![]() Thanks for replies both of you... Edited by Trond on 08-06-2012 13:45 Trond |

I'd try changing the title a little to attract the other tachinid experts, just in case

the abdomen definitely looks greenish, so I expect it to be a female Bellardia (thus Calliphoridae) Theo |

...what you prefer, we can discus this, during some good wine, cheese and many new pinned flies!
