Found a couple of days ago on sandy grassland above a beach in Shetland.

Only able to ID it by going through the Gallery, pretty distinctive looking fly. Some threads on it too where the markings on the wings were mentioned as not normal for this fly??
Will be back to that beach next week, so hoping to bump into a yellow faced male ( hmm...does that sound right) Shock
