7mm, Clitheroe UK, 2 July 2011

Last June I had a male P. discrepans (http://www.dipter...d_id=39015). This fly from a month later has similar venation but the parafrontal is much wider. Could it be a female of the same species?

Stephen, you missed the right turn.

It is a female Musca domestica !

R4+5 and M meet. How common is that in Musca domestica wings?

This is not a Muscidae. Phyto was a good suggestion to me.

It is nice to see another pitfall. Wink Phyto is very likely the right genus.

Yes, Musca it is not, indeed, missed the stalk.

It should be Phyto but it does not look familiar.
I have little experience with discrepans / adolescens
It is clearly not Ph. melanocephala.
