On 5-08-2011 I found some caterpilars inside a nest in a birdhouse and seperate these in a bottle;

This week I found some tachinidae in these bottle and now I am wondering what kind of tachinidae these are?

Some flies are about 7mm in size and other are bigger > 11mm

Here are some pictures:

It's screaming "SARCOPHAGIDAE!!!" to me Wink

Elongate R5 cell and 3 strong longitudinal thoracic vitae all point to that Wink

Thank you Chris, for this quick answer.

I didn't watch well and I didn't watch flies for a long time.

I found it typically to find this flies next to the moths and expected Tachinidae.
Are there any typical Sarcophagidae which use these place and moths?

greeting Robert
