Hi all. Recently, a colleague brought me some larvae in very poor condition, forming a cone on the ground like those of Myrmeleontidae. Have you any idea of ​​what family can be? They come from Barcelona (Spain). Jorge |

Hello Jorge welcome to the forum. I guess you mean sandpits as those in Myrmeleontidae instead of cones on the ground. In the latter case it appears to me as small hills of sand instead of holes/pits. Dou you have some photographs of the larvae? or a link? |

As far as I am aware, the only Diptera-larvae making such sandpits are Vermileonidae. |
